What exactly is Fields of Mistria?

Fields of Mistria is a farming and life simulation RPG set in a charming, anime-inspired fantasy town. You inherit a run-down farm, then spend your days growing crops, raising animals, mining, fishing, catching bugs, and befriending the townsfolk. There is also a light combat system in the mines and a town restoration mechanic that unlocks as you progress.

Which platforms can I play on?

Fields of Mistria is currently available on PC via Steam as an early access title. As of this writing, there are no official console or Mac versions announced. The developers have said they are focusing on the PC version first, so do not expect console ports until at least after the full release.

Does Fields of Mistria have multiplayer or co-op?

No. The game is strictly single-player. There are no plans for multiplayer at this time. The developer has stated they want to refine the single-player experience before considering any co-op mode, which means it is a distant possibility but not a confirmed feature.

How do I unlock the museum and other town buildings?

The museum becomes available early in the story, right after you meet the town's mayor. You repair it by donating artifacts, fossils, and other items you find while mining or fishing. Other buildings on the eastern side of town, such as the bathhouse and bridge, are tied to the town restoration project. You can donate materials to the temple in the northeastern corner of the map to gradually repair those structures.

How do I get more energy and stamina?

Stamina is increased permanently by eating certain cooked meals and by reaching new skill levels in each profession. You can also upgrade your tools at the blacksmith, which reduces the stamina cost per use. The quickest temporary fix is to carry a stack of forageable berries or cooked dishes that restore energy, or to visit the hot springs if you have unlocked them.

What is the fastest way to make money?

In the first week, focus on fishing and foraging. Fish sell for a decent price and require no initial investment. Once you have a small amount of gold, buy strawberry seeds from the general store. Strawberries have an excellent gold-per-day ratio and keep producing multiple harvests. For a longer-term strategy, raise chickens and sell cooked eggs or mayonnaise after you craft the appropriate machines.

Can I romance every NPC?

Not yet. There are 10 marriage candidates in the game, but only 6 are currently available to date in early access. The remaining romanceable characters will be added with future updates. You can still build friendships with them in the meantime. To start dating an available candidate, you need to raise their heart level to 6 or higher and give them a special item called the "Bead of Fortune," which you can craft once you find feathers from the mines.

Does time keep moving while I am inside my inventory or menus?

No, the game pauses when you have your inventory, map, or dialogue boxes open. This is a very useful feature for planning your day. The only exception is during certain festival cutscenes, where time may continue. Do not worry, those cutscenes are short and rarely cost you more than a few in-game minutes.
