Fields of Mistria, from developer and publisher NPC Studio, launched on Steam on Aug 5, 2026. This single-player farming and life sim RPG does not yet have an official keyboard and mouse binding list on the Steam store page. Until NPC Studio releases one, the best way to see your current bindings is to launch the game and open the in-game settings.
Before you start decorating your farm or meeting the townsfolk, it helps to confirm your control scheme. A quick review of the settings menu can prevent you from missing inputs during time-sensitive farm activities.
Start the game and navigate to the options or settings area from the main menu or pause screen.
Look for a controls, key bindings, or input mapping page.
Check actions in order: movement, tools, interaction, inventory, and dialogue.
If any key feels awkward or conflicts with another, note it so you can rebind it later.

Do not assume the default keyboard layout matches other farming sims. The Steam store data does not list these bindings yet, so verify them yourself on your first launch.
Gamepad
For gamepad fans, Fields of Mistria supports Full controller support on Steam. The listing also includes DualShock Controller Support and DualSense Controller Support, meaning both Sony controllers are natively compatible. You can play the entire game without touching a keyboard.
The official gamepad layout is not broken down in the store data, but full controller support signals that all core actions, from moving your character to opening menus, are assigned to a standard pad. If you are coming from another life sim, you can expect a familiar two-stick setup, but always test it in-game to be certain.
Connect your controller before launching the game so it becomes the default input.
For DualShock and DualSense, use USB or Bluetooth and check the controller settings in Windows if it fails to connect.
In the game's settings, confirm that the controller profile is recognized.
Test the face buttons, shoulder buttons, triggers, and sticks early to spot any unresponsive or swapped inputs.
Tips and rebinding
Even if the default layout works, you may prefer your own setup. Fields of Mistria is a single-player game, so you have full freedom to customize controls without affecting anyone else. Investing a few minutes in rebinding up front can make hours of farming smoother.
